assignment (due before class on Tuesday 6/23):
- Fill out the topic brainstorming exercise in the topic brainstorms folder in our class Google folder (and here’s a partially filled out example).
- Read Elements of Rhetorical Situations (10 sections, ending with Conclusion), from Purdue OWL.
- Watch the six Padlet 101 videos.
Tuesday 6/23
in class: go over Elements of Rhetorical Situations; do a quick Rhetorical Situation analysis; go over brainstorming exercise; Topic Proposal assignment; look at topic proposal examples
- search strategies in Google Scholar: cited by, relevant articles
- images for the Padlet entries: Pexels, Unsplash, Pixabay, others
- taking a screenshot on a Mac: Command + Shift + 3 for the whole screen, or Command + Shift + 4 for a selected area of the screen
- taking a screenshot on a PC: PrintScreen for the whole screen, or install Lightshot for a selected area of the screen
assignment (due on Friday 6/26):
- Complete the Topic Proposal and upload it to the final topic proposal folder in our class Google folder.
- Continue working on your Padlet; view the tutorials for adding a custom text field and a single-select field.
Wednesday 6/24: Open Studio
Drop in (https://ucsb.zoom.us/j/8949672892) between 12:30 and 1:50 to work on your Topic Proposal. I’ll be there to answer questions and give feedback.
Friday 6/26: Topic Proposal due
Upload your PDF to the Final Topic Proposals folder. Include your last name in the file name (e.g., “sorapure_proposal.pdf”).
